General Questions about the ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017 for University Students
·      What is The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017?
The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017 is to attract and encourage the innovative minds from our University students by challenging their creativity and capacity to come up with Innovative Business IDEAS in ICT, focussing particularly in the creation of the next big Innovative ICT Solutions to solve life real problems and to improve daily life of citizens.

·      What is the aim of The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017?
The aim of the competition is to inspire the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and to ensure continuous creation of ideas and start-ups as from the University level.
·      When will The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017 take place?
Registration to participate in the competition will open as from the 29th November 2017. Once your registration is validated, an IDEA form will be sent by mail to the team leader. Deadline for submission of IDEA form is 7th February 2018. Information about other exact dates will be communicated by mail.
·      Who can participate for The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017?
The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017 is open to team of University Students comprising of any combination of Undergraduates, Graduates, Postgraduates or Researchers from any course or any year. However, at least one team member must be from the ICT faculty/ department.
·      What about the teams?
Your Team must have a Team Name and a Team Leader. The Team Leader must be the representative of the team and will be the contact person in case of necessity regarding the ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017.
·         How many team members should you have?
Your team should comprise of a minimum of 2 members and up to a maximum of 4 members.
·      What background I must have to participate?
As the competition welcomes Innovative Business Idea in ICT, at least one member in each team, must be doing or has completed an ICT course or has a degree or is enrolled for a Masters or Research in ICT Course in a University or has the knowledge/ skills to develop the prototype of the idea proposed. Other Members of the Team can be from any other course which you feel will add value to your Innovative IDEA.
·      Why should we participate as a team?
Working as a team makes it easier for you to brainstorm on your Innovative IDEA, share your competencies from various fields. This also helps in building trust, in fostering creativity & learning as well as in encouraging healthy risk-taking to achieve success. 
·      This Competition welcomes which types of ideas?
This Competition welcomes Innovative business ideas related to Information and Communication Technology focusing particularly in the development of Solutions that will improve lives by making it easier for citizens to receive innovative services/ solutions to improve access to smart services through the use of technology.
·      How should I participate in The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition?
To participate in The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition 2017, there is need for a team of a minimum of 2 and up to a maximum of 4 members from University Students. The team leader must fill up and submit registration form for validation. Once the registration form is validated, you will be invited to submit the IDEA form at latest by the 7th February 2018.
·      How many stages The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition have?
The  Competition will be conducted in 3 Stages
as given below:​​   

Stage I

o   Launching and Registration starts.

o   Validation of Registration to submit your IDEA Form.

o   Screening of IDEA Forms by Jury Members &

o   Announcement of best Innovative IDEAS to next stage.

Stage II

o   Training to work out Business Model, Business Plan and Financial Forecasts.

o   Submission of BM.

o   Assessment and selection of Team based on BM to next stage.

o   Assistance to Work out Business Plan and Financial forecasts.

Stage III

o   Submission of Business Plan and Financial Forecasts.

o   Assessment and selection of Team based on Best B. Plan and Financial Forecasts.

o   Assistance to prepare Live Presentation.

o   Live Presentation of Project to select award winning Team.

o   Award Ceremony.

 
·      What are the objectives of The ICT Innovative Business Idea Competition?
The objectives of The ICT innovative Business Idea Competition are:
·      To promote a culture of Innovative Start-ups among our University Students.
·      To encourage multidisciplinary collaboration to emerge with Innovative/ Creative IDEAS.
·      To empower University Students to create business as from the University level.
·      To Stimulate the creation of new employment opportunities in local communities
·      What will be the prizes for the winners? 

The winners of the ICT Innovative Business IDEA Competition 2017 will take with them the following:

·      What will the other participants benefit?
 
§ A Shield will be offered  to all Team who have made it till Semi- Finals of the Competition
§ A certificate of participation will be offered to all participants of the ICT Innovative Business IDEA Competition 2017.
 
·      What are the submission dates?
 
All the Registration Forms should be submitted to National Computer Board at your earliest, following registration is open. Once your Registration Form is validated you will be invited to submit the Idea Form which will be sent to you by mail. All the Idea Forms should reach The NCB Technopreneurship Programme by dates which will be informed by mail.
